Where is the water stop cock? How do I turn the water off?

Most properties have an internal and external water shut off valves (stop cock). The internal one is most often located under the kitchen sink and the one outside is just inside your property boundary. There is also a 3rd stop valve provided by the supplier on the pavement where the water meter is.

It is wise to know where and how to turn off your water supply. then if you are unfortunate enough to have a plumbing problem you know what to do.
